Tony Nguyen

Head Coach, Women's Cloth

Ottawa, Ontario

I have played competitive dodgeball for over 20 years with experience at the highest level of play in foam, cloth and rubber. Each with success at the world level. Growing up and to this day, I continue to play competitive sports outside of dodgeball (basketball, volleyball, soccer, football and softball). What a lot don’t know about me, is that I have obtained my black belt as well as competed in martial arts internationally.

Why is this important information? I feel as a player, I am able to bring a lot of insight and strategy into the mix. But more importantly, I believe the experience of having success from it all translates into a winning mindset. My goal as coach is simple. I plan to bring strategy and mindset to the forefront of the game but, I also want my athletes to have fun!

At the end of the day, I would like everyone in the program to take away a few things. First, to learn and become stronger well rounded players where they can continue to grow in the sport and personally. Secondly, I want to bring fun back into the game! I have always been a firm believer that winning is a byproduct of having fun, coupled with the hard work you put in during training.

I look forward to working alongside with you and being a part of your journey.
